<reviewbody>Derek Trucks Band has many styles, but this show plays nothing but blues. I don't know who the woman singing is, but I can't say I'm fond of her. With the exception of the #11 Sly & Family Stone cover, this song rocks!

I feel the setlist for this show was rather weak. It didn't allow for their true tallent to shine, only the blues side of the band came out. The encore leaves something to be desired of.

Recording is decent. Fine sound quality with minimal crowd noise.

However, this recording is far from "AMAZING!!!!!"</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>This show was incredible, Derek was amazing! The woman singing is Susan Tedeschi, Derek's wife, and she was great. I would have like to have heard a little more of Mike, and maybe another instrumental such as sahib teri bandi. But the atmosphere at the fox was very good, and the theatre itself was breath taking. Derek and the band were all smilling and swaying back and forth all night long, you could tell they were having a blast, and it shines through their music. Stand back was the highlight of the night for me. This recording is good, thanks so much for doing this. Tapers are awesome!!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Good Set, seems a bit short, but quality none-the-less. Soul Serenade and Stand Back are right on, not to mention covers of The Band and Billy Preston (RIP). Worth a look. Where's the lossless??</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I've been to too many DTB shows to count. This show and the last new year's eve show in Atlanta. They started at 9pm and lasted until around 1:30. Susan Tedeschi had a full set which Derek played along side his wife during much of the show. Those songs aren't available. The NYE show itself was better than last year's. I did miss the appearance of Gregg Allman this year. However thinks Susan can't sing is either out of their mind or has never heard a good recording of her. She is probably the most amazing female guitarist / vocalists alive today. You don't get nominated for four grammies for nothing</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>A decent recording of an incredible show. We were directly above the taper, AA of the Loge. To see Derek direct the band,at times as many as 12 musicians,w/head nods & eye contact, was truly amazing. Weak set? It's New Years Eve! Too much blues? This is Atlanta! Susan Tedeski? Incredible talent! The New Years Eve show is an annual tradition started by the Allman Bros. Band over a dozen years ago, and now carried on by Mr.& Mrs. Trucks. See you there next year.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>ManOfMulcahey I'm not sure what show you were at. Mahjourn>Greensleeves is pure jazz bro. This wasn't as good as the 3 shows I've seen at the Georgia Theatre in Athens but it was a helluva concert. The only downfall for me was Ron Holloway. I hatehis playing; too screeching and redundant.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Youre obviuosly a lame brained phish phan. first off, this is far from only a blues show they touch on some real r&b and you can also say some of it is real jazz as well. second,
Susan Tedeschi is one of the most respected blues singers in the biz male or female, (she is also dereks wife) and she is a berkley grad which pretty much much makes her an automatic bad ass. third, the recording is done with a PVM480s peavey mike witch isnt the best mike in the world but its pretty good so that being said I think the recording is very good. You freaking Phish fans are like a diease, youre all over the internet saying this and that rarley making any valid points or writing objective reviews. DO US ALL A FAVOR AND GO AWAY, WRITE REVIEWS ON PHISH SHOWS AND LEAVE THE REST OF THE INTERNET MUSIC SCENE ALONE. KEEP YOURE NARROW MINDED OPINIONS TO YOURSELF. YOU DO THAT AND THINGS WILL BE ALOT BETTER OFF EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I think Susan's voice is incredible and she's an excellent addition when she joins the Derek Trucks Band.
To stand up for Ron Holloway, the guy's a jazz legend (although that's perhaps an oxymoron)and he's well known for that style some of you find annoying. He played with Dizzy Gillespie through the 80s and has recently played with Little Feat, Allman Brothers, Gov't Mule and has his own band as well as being part of Susan's band and sat in with countless other groups. You don't cross those genres by being repetitive.
Both he and Susan have their own style, but their musical vocabulary and range is inspiring. I think they're doing quite all right regardless of some of the opinions here.</reviewbody>
